Hampton Talbots (Allison Park, PA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA), 54-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hampton upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Talbots travel to Highlands (Natrona Heights, PA) to play the Golden Rams in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 25. The Golden Rams come into the battle with a record of 10-5. Highlands won 56-52 in their recent league battle against Knoch (Saxonburg, PA)

The Fightin' Planets (8-8) will now prepare for their battle against Fox Chapel (Pittsburgh, PA). The Foxes come into the WPIAL 5A 2 battle with a 5-12 record. In their last battle, Fox Chapel beat New Castle (New Castle, PA), 54-20, in a league battle.
