Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hampton Talbots (Allison Park, PA), 54-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mars upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Fightin' Planets travel to Baldwin (Pittsburgh, PA) to play the Highlanders in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Highlanders come into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Talbots play the Fox Chapel Foxes (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 2 bout, on Thursday, January 4. Hampton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record.
