Idaho High School Basketball - Council thwarts Salmon River

The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Council Lumberjacks (Council, ID) and the host Salmon River Savages (Riggins, ID), observed Council's basketball team knock off Salmon River by a score of 49-38.
The Lumberjacks (11-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Horseshoe Bend (Horseshoe Bend, ID). The Mustangs come into the 1A Long Pin challenge with a 1-12 record. In their last challenge, Horseshoe Bend was knocked off by Tri-Valley (Cambridge, ID), 70-54, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Savages encounter the Kendrick Tigers (Kendrick, ID) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 30. Salmon River will attempt to improve on its 1-10 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 52-20 league win over Troy (Troy, ID).
