New Mexico High School Basketball - Navajo Prep thwarts Wingate

The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) and the host Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM), observed Navajo Prep's basketball team knock off Wingate by a score of 58-49.
The Eagles (13-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM). The Eagles come into the 3A District 1 challenge with a 5-12 record. In their last challenge, Crownpoint dropped by Newcomb (Newcomb, NM), 62-50, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Bears encounter the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Friday, January 24. Wingate will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 16-2 record after their 70-39 league win over Newcomb (Newcomb, NM).
