North Carolina High School Basketball - South Caldwell nips Ashe County

January 23, 2024: West Jefferson, NC 28694

South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 57-51 in a league bout.

With the win, South Caldwell upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Spartans host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to play the Panthers in a 3A/4A Northwestern bout on Friday, January 26. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 1-14. Hibriten lost 59-33 in their recent league bout against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)

Next up, the Huskies play the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern bout, on Wednesday, January 24. Ashe County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 7-9 record after their 78-64 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
