De Leon Bearcats (De Leon, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Santo Wildcats (Santo, TX), 60-37 in a league bout.

With the win, De Leon upgrades its record to 11-13 on the season. The Bearcats travel to Hico (Hico, TX) to clash with the Tigers in a 2A Region II District 11 bout on Friday, January 26. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 10-14. Hico won 57-8 in their recent league bout against Ranger (Ranger, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Poolville Monarchs (Poolville, TX) in a 2A Region II District 11 bout, on Friday, January 26. Santo will attempt to upgrade on its 8-18 season record. The Monarchs go into the bout with a 22-5 record after their 37-33 league loss to Lipan (Lipan, TX).
