Santo Wildcats (Santo, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting De Leon Bearcats (De Leon, TX), 52-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Santo upgrades its record to 6-9 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Poolville (Poolville, TX) to play the Monarchs in a 2A Region II District 11 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Monarchs go into the bout with a record of 13-4.

Next up, the Bearcats play the Hico Tigers (Hico, TX) in a 2A Region II District 11 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. De Leon will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 6-8 record after their 51-28 non-league win over Strawn (Strawn, TX).
