West Rutland Golden Horde (West Rutland, VT) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Long Trail (Dorset, VT), 58-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, West Rutland upgrades its record to 10-2 on the campaign. The Golden Horde host Arlington Memorial (Arlington, VT) to play the Eagles in a Southern Vermont - D bout on Friday, January 26. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 3-9. Arlington Memorial lost 68-44 in their recent league bout against Proctor (Proctor, VT)

Next up, the play the Green Mountain Chieftains (Chester, VT) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. Long Trail will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Chieftains come into the bout with a 8-6 record after their 58-51 league loss to White River Valley (Royalton, VT).
