The McGuffey Highlanders basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Mt. Pleasant Vikings to 36 in the Highlanders league triumph on Tuesday.
The Highlanders now sport a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Waynesburg Central for a WPIAL 3A 4 contest on Wednesday, January 24. McGuffey will battle a Raiders team coming off a 51-31 league loss to Brownsville (Brownsville, PA). The Raiders record now stands at 3-8.
The Vikings (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against Derry (Derry, PA). The Trojans enter the non-league contest with a 9-5 record. In their last contest, Derry triumphed over Burrell (Lower Burrell, PA), 51-50, in a league contest.
