Mt. Pleasant Vikings (Mt. Pleasant, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA), 50-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Mt. Pleasant upgrades its record to 1-5 on the season. The Vikings host Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA) to clash with the Rams in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 21. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 1-5. Ligonier Valley lost 73-47 in their recent league bout against Burrell (Lower Burrell, PA)

Next up, the Highlanders clash with the Leechburg Blue Devils (Leechburg, PA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 22. McGuffey will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 55-29 league loss to Jeannette (Jeannette, PA).
