Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Sanford Spartans (Sanford, ME) and the visiting Scarborough Red Storm (Scarborough, ME), saw Sanford's basketball squad hold off Scarborough by a tally of 64-59.

With the victory, Sanford improves its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Gorham (Gorham, ME) to play the Rams in a AA South challenge on Saturday, January 27. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 12-3. Gorham won 69-60 in their recent league challenge against Thornton Academy (Saco, ME)

Next up, the Red Storm play the Bonny Eagle Scots (Standish, ME) in a AA South challenge, on Thursday, January 25. Scarborough will attempt to improve on its 11-3 season record. The Scots come into the challenge with a 2-11 record after their 48-34 league loss to Gorham (Gorham, ME).
