Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX), 56-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Monterey upgrades its record to 20-3 on the campaign. The Plainsmen host Wylie (Abilene, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a bout on Friday, January 26. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 0-3.

Next up, the Eagles play the Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. Abilene will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
