North Carolina High School Basketball - Draughn knocked off by Mitchell

January 23, 2025: Bakersville, NC 28705

In Thursday's league test, the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), by a score of 74-54.

Next, the Mountaineers encounter the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) in a 1A/2A Western Highlands test, on Friday, January 24. Mitchell will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Warhorses come into the test with a 11-3 record after their 95-74 league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC).

The Wildcats (5-12) will now prepare for their test against Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Mountaineers come into the 1A/2A Western Highlands test with a 6-7 record. In their last test, Mitchell went down by Owen (Black Mountain, NC), 69-58, in a league test.
