North Carolina High School Basketball - Mitchell sneaks past Draughn

The Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) basketball edged the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), 71-65 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Mountaineers now possess a 8-7 record. They play next when they host NCSSM: Morganton for a 1A/2A Western Highlands bout on Wednesday, January 29. Mitchell will play a Dragons team coming off a 66-28 league loss to Madison (Marshall, NC). The Dragons record now stands at 4-10.

With the loss, Draughn falls to 5-13 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Madison (Marshall, NC) to play the Patriots in a 1A/2A Western Highlands bout on Friday, January 31. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 10-9. Madison won 68-16 in their recent league bout against Rosman (Rosman, NC)
