The Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones (Elizabethton, TN) basketball edged the visiting Unicoi County Blue Devils (Erwin, TN), 59-54 in Thursday's league bout.

The Fighting Cyclones now possess a 14-6 record. They play next when they travel to Science Hill for a non-league bout on Saturday, January 25. Elizabethton will play a Hilltoppers team coming off a 70-45 league win over Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 13-5.

With the loss, Unicoi County falls to 11-10 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Sullivan East (Bluff City, TN) to play the Patriots in a 3A District 1 bout on Friday, January 24. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 4-16. Sullivan East lost 77-28 in their recent league bout against Tennessee (Bristol, TN)
