The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls (Cliff, NM) and the visiting Quemado Eagles (Quemado, NM), observed Cliff's basketball team overcome Quemado by a margin of 42-33.

The Cowboys/Cowgirls (13-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Magdalena (Magdalena, NM). The Steers come into the A District 2 challenge with a 14-4 record. In their last challenge, Magdalena defeated Animas (Animas, NM), 65-36, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Reserve Mountaineers (Reserve, NM) in a A District 2 challenge, on Saturday, January 25. Quemado will attempt to better on its 12-5 season record. The Mountaineers come into the challenge with a 8-6 record after their 68-30 non-league win over Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM).
