The Hayesville Yellowjackets basketball team scored 75 points and held the visiting Highlands Highlanders to 35 in the Yellowjackets non-league triumph on Monday.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 14-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Andrews for a 1A Conference 43 contest on Tuesday, January 25. Hayesville will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 69-58 non-league win over Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-8.
The Highlanders (4-11) will now prepare for their contest against Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Maroon Devils enter the non-league contest with a 13-6 record. In their last contest, Swain County was routed by Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC), 56-55, in a league contest.
