Texas High School Basketball - Venus can't hold off Alvarado

The Alvarado Indians basketball team scored 39 points and held the visiting Venus Bulldogs to 37 in the Indians league triumph on Tuesday.
The Indians now sport a 25-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hillsboro for a 4A Region II District 10 contest on Friday, January 27. Alvarado will battle a Eagles team coming off a 58-38 league loss to Kennedale (Kennedale, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 16-11.
The Bulldogs (6-22) will now prepare for their contest against Life Waxahachie (Waxahachie, TX). The Mustangs enter the 4A Region II District 10 contest with a 25-5 record. In their last contest, Life Waxahachie nudged Ferris (Ferris, TX), 37-28, in a league contest.
