The Porter Spartans (Porter, TX) basketball nipped the host Dayton Broncos (Dayton, TX), 41-40 in Tuesday's league test.
The Spartans (9-18) will now prepare for their test against Lufkin (Lufkin, TX). The Panthers go into the 5A Region II District 16 test with a 27-3 record. In their last test, Lufkin got by Huntsville (Huntsville, TX), 50-29, in a league test.
