Virginia High School Basketball - Essex overwhelmed by Lancaster

The Lancaster Red Devils basketball team scored 76 points and restricted the visiting Essex Trojans to 42 in the Red Devils league victory on Tuesday.

The Red Devils now sport a 14-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Westmoreland for a Northern Neck contest on Friday, January 27. Lancaster will battle a Eagles team coming off a 61-37 league win over Northumberland (Heathsville, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 10-5.

The Trojans (7-8) will now prepare for their contest against Colonial Beach (Colonial Beach, VA). The Drifters come into the Northern Neck contest with a 1-11 record. In their last contest, Colonial Beach triumphed over King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA), 73-69, in a non-league contest.
