The McKenzie Rebels (McKenzie, TN) basketball nipped the host Gibson County Pioneers (Dyer, TN), 75-73 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Rebels (11-6) will now prepare for their test against McEwen (McEwen, TN). The Warriors go into the 1A District 11 test with a 17-4 record. In their last test, McEwen got by Dickson County (Dickson, TN), 57-53, in a non-league test.
The Pioneers now own a 12-6 record. They play next when they travel to Huntingdon for a 2A District 12 test on Friday, January 27. Gibson County will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 74-50 league win over Union City (Union City, TN). The Mustangs record now stands at 15-3.
