Woodland Wolves (Woodland, CA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mesa Verde Mavericks (Citrus Heights, CA), 42-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Woodland upgrades its record to 3-9 on the season. The Wolves travel to Dixon (Dixon, CA) to play the Rams in a Golden Empire League bout on Friday, January 27. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 11-10. Dixon lost 50-42 in their recent league bout against Pioneer (Woodland, CA)

Next up, the Mavericks play the Mira Loma Matadors (Sacramento, CA) in a Golden Empire League bout, on Friday, January 27. Mesa Verde will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Matadors go into the bout with a 1-17 record after their 61-17 league loss to Pioneer (Woodland, CA).
