Georgia High School Basketball - Oconee County knocked off by Monroe Area

The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Oconee County Warriors to 49 in the Purple Hurricanes league triumph on Tuesday.
The Purple Hurricanes now sport a 10-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hart County for a AAA Region 8 contest on Friday, January 27. Monroe Area will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 49-39 league win over Franklin County (Carnesville, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-6.
The Warriors (6-13) will now prepare for their contest against Hebron Christian Academy (Dacula, GA). The Lions enter the AAA Region 8 contest with a 19-0 record. In their last contest, Hebron Christian Academy ran past Stephens County (Toccoa, GA), 88-8, in a league contest.
