Shades Valley Mounties (Birmingham, AL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mountain Brook Spartans (Birmingham, AL), 31-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Shades Valley upgrades its record to 13-4 on the season. The Mounties travel to Center Point (Birmingham, AL) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, January 30. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 4-16.

Next up, the Spartans play the Pell City Panthers (Pell City, AL) in a 6A Area 10 bout, on Friday, January 27. Mountain Brook will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 19-8 record after their 46-40 league win over Woodlawn (Birmingham, AL).
