The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs basketball team (Nixon, TX), was nudged 49-45 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Randolph Ro-Hawks (Universal City, TX)

The Ro-Hawks now possess a 18-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marion for a 3A Region IV District 26 battle on Tuesday, January 31. Randolph will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 93-23 non-league loss to San Marcos HomeSchool (San Marcos, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-12.

The Mustangs (15-15) will now prepare for their battle against Cole (San Antonio, TX). The Cougars come into the 3A Region IV District 26 battle with a 8-21 record. In their last battle, Cole edged Luling (Luling, TX), 49-22, in a league battle.
