North Carolina High School Basketball - Providence Grove nips Southwestern Randolph

Providence Grove Patriots (Franklinville, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC), 50-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Providence Grove upgrades its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Patriots host Trinity (Trinity, NC) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 9-10.

Next up, the Cougars play the Randleman Tigers (Randleman, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 27. Southwestern Randolph will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 13-7 record after their 72-58 non-league win over Eastern Randolph (Ramseur, NC).
