Maine High School Basketball - Ashland can't hold off Madawaska

The Madawaska Owls basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the host Ashland Hornets to 49 in the Owls non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Owls now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Washburn for a non-league contest on Friday, January 26. Madawaska will battle a Beavers team coming off a 52-37 league win over Van Buren (Van Buren, ME). The Beavers record now stands at 7-6.
The Hornets (5-7) will now prepare for their contest against Fort Fairfield (Fort Fairfield, ME). The Tigers come into the non-league contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Fort Fairfield was nudged by Katahdin (Sherman Station, ME), 56-50, in a non-league contest.
