Madawaska Owls (Madawaska, ME) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME), 69-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Madawaska upgrades its record to 11-7 on the season. The Owls host Fort Fairfield (Fort Fairfield, ME) to play the Tigers in a C North bout on Thursday, February 8. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Fort Fairfield lost 51-44 in their recent non-league bout against Houlton (Houlton, ME)

Next up, the Hornets play the Easton Bears (Easton, ME) in a D North bout, on Wednesday, February 7. Ashland will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 66-55 league win over Central Aroostook (Mars Hill, ME).
