In Wednesday's league outing, the Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Nantahala Hawks (Topton, NC), by a margin of 80-40.

The Yellowjackets (11-7) will now prepare for their outing against Murphy (Murphy, NC). The Bulldogs go into the Big Smoky outing with a 11-5 record. In their last outing, Murphy smashed Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC), 84-31, in a non-league outing.

The Hawks now own a 3-10 record. They play next when they travel to Hiwassee Dam for a Little Smoky outing on Tuesday, January 30. Nantahala will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 78-39 league loss to Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 3-12.
