Marquette Defenders (Bellevue, IA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Midland Eagles (Wyoming, IA), 80-26 in a league bout.

With the victory, Marquette upgrades its record to 16-0 on the campaign. The Defenders travel to Bellevue (Bellevue, IA) to play the Comets in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 25. The Comets come into the bout with a record of 8-5.

Next up, the Eagles play the Calamus-Wheatland Warriors (Wheatland, IA) in a Tri-Rivers bout, on Thursday, January 25. Midland will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 66-60 non-league win over North Cedar (Stanwood, IA).
