Virginia High School Basketball - Surry County topped by Sussex Central

The Sussex Central Tigers basketball team scored 45 points and restricted the visiting Surry County Cougars to 33 in the Tigers league victory on Wednesday.

The Tigers now sport a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brunswick for a Tri-Rivers contest on Friday, January 26. Sussex Central will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 61-59 league win over Franklin (Franklin, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-3.

The Cougars (2-15) will now prepare for their contest against Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech (Petersburg, VA). The Dragons come into the Tri-Rivers contest with a 0-16 record.
