Clarke County Bulldogs (Grove Hill, AL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Blacksher Bulldogs (Uriah, AL), 54-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Clarke County upgrades its record to 10-11 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Washington County (Chatom, AL) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Area 1 bout on Thursday, January 25. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 13-0. Washington County won 66-25 in their recent league bout against Blacksher (Uriah, AL)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Shields Panthers (Beatrice, AL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Blacksher will attempt to upgrade on its 10-7 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 64-50 league loss to Georgiana (Georgiana, AL).
