North Carolina High School Basketball - Watauga can't hold off Alexander Central

The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Watauga Pioneers to 47 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Cougars now sport a 13-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Freedom for a contest on Friday, January 26. Alexander Central will battle a Patriots team coming off a 46-42 non-league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 5-6.
The Pioneers (11-1) will now prepare for their contest against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies enter the non-league contest with a 6-6 record. In their last contest, Ashe County was nudged by Freedom (Morganton, NC), 46-42, in a non-league contest.
