The Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball nipped the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 44-37 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Pioneers (14-1) will now prepare for their test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers go into the non-league test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, Hibriten was tipped by McDowell (Marion, NC), 47-21, in a non-league test.
The Cougars now own a 15-1 record. They play next when they travel to South Caldwell for a test on Friday, February 9.
