In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Cobden Appleknockers basketball team scored a close 46-42 triumph over the Shawnee Redskins.
The Appleknockers (10-9) will now prepare for their contest against Elverado (Elkville, IL). The Falcons go into the non-league contest with a 6-12 record. In their last contest, Elverado nipped Agape Christian (Energy, IL), 66-49, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Redskins confront the Agape Christian Knights (Energy, IL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 25. Shawnee will attempt to better on its 2-15 season record. The Knights go into the contest with a 6-9 record after their 66-49 non-league loss to Elverado (Elkville, IL).
