The Newton Cardinals got by the visiting Indianola Indians basketball squad by a final score of 46-40 in Friday's league outing.

Next, the Cardinals clash with the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs (Dallas Center, IA) in a Little Hawkeye outing, on Tuesday, January 28. Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Mustangs come into the outing with a 8-5 record after their 65-57 non-league win over Gilbert (Gilbert, IA).
