North Carolina High School Basketball - Union Academy trounced by Mount Pleasant

January 24, 2025: Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124

Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC), 65-43 in a league match.

With the victory, Mount Pleasant advances its record to 9-7 on the year. The Tigers host Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC) to face the Cougars in a non-league match on Saturday, January 25. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 6-11. Southwestern Randolph won 60-38 in their recent league match against Trinity (Trinity, NC)

The Cardinals now own a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Stanly for a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley match on Tuesday, January 28. Union Academy will face a Comets squad coming off a 80-59 league win over Albemarle (Albemarle, NC). The Comets record now stands at 15-2.
