The Sutherlin Bulldogs (Sutherlin, OR) basketball edged the visiting South Umpqua Lancers (Myrtle Creek, OR), 47-40 in Friday's league bout.
The Bulldogs now possess a 10-6 record. They play next when they travel to Douglas for a 3A Far West bout on Tuesday, January 28. Sutherlin will play a Trojans team coming off a 63-16 league win over Glide (Glide, OR). The Trojans record now stands at 8-8.
With the loss, South Umpqua falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Lancers host Siuslaw (Florence, OR) to play the Vikings in a 3A Far West bout on Tuesday, January 28. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Siuslaw won 50-36 in their recent league bout against Coquille (Coquille, OR)
