In Friday's league contest, the visiting Anderson County Mavericks basketball team scored a good 63-53 triumph over the Gibbs Eagles.
The Mavericks (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Scott (Huntsville, TN). The Highlanders go into the 3A District 4 contest with a 14-5 record. In their last contest, Scott topped Clinton (Clinton, TN), 49-43, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Eagles battle the Cumberland Gap Panthers (Cumberland Gap, TN) in a 3A District 4 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Gibbs will attempt to better on its 5-16 season record.
