The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Hayden Wildcats (Topeka, KS) and the host Emporia Spartans (Emporia, KS), observed Hayden's basketball team overwhelm Emporia by a score of 56-16.

The Wildcats (10-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Junction City/St. Xavier (Junction City, KS). The Bluejays come into the non-league challenge with a 1-4 record.

In their next game, the Spartans encounter the Topeka Trojans (Topeka, KS) in a Centennial challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Emporia will attempt to improve on its 1-8 season record.
