James Monroe Yellow Jackets (Fredericksburg, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Eastern View Cyclones (Culpeper, VA), 70-66 in a league bout.

With the win, James Monroe upgrades its record to 13-3 on the season. The Yellow Jackets travel to Chancellor (Fredericksburg, VA) to play the Chargers in a Battlefield bout on Friday, January 26. The Chargers go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Chancellor won 67-58 in their recent league bout against Eastern View (Culpeper, VA)

Next up, the Cyclones play the King George Foxes (King George, VA) in a Battlefield bout, on Friday, January 26. Eastern View will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Foxes go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 54-28 league loss to Courtland (Spotsylvania, VA).
