The Mahtomedi Zephyrs basketball team scored 73 points and held the host South St. Paul Packers to 60 in the Zephyrs non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Zephyrs now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host North for a AAA Section 4 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Mahtomedi will meet a Polars team coming off a 69-40 league loss to Tartan (Oakdale, MN). The Polars record now stands at 5-10.
The Packers (6-10) will now prepare for their contest against Holy Family Catholic (Victoria, MN). The Fire enter the non-league contest with a 9-7 record. In their last contest, Holy Family Catholic ran past Hutchinson (Hutchinson, MN), 78-66, in a non-league contest.
