Cardinal Comets (Eldon, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Centerville Big Reds/Redettes (Centerville, IA), 56-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cardinal upgrades its record to 4-9 on the season. The Comets host Chariton (Chariton, IA) to play the Chargers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 26. The Chargers go into the bout with a record of 12-3. Chariton won 44-33 in their recent league bout against Albia (Albia, IA)

Next up, the Big Reds/Redettes play the Clarke Indians (Osceola, IA) in a South Central bout, on Friday, January 26. Centerville will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 72-55 league win over Davis County (Bloomfield, IA).
