The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles (Bruning, NE) and the visiting Meridian Mustangs (Daykin, NE), observed Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's basketball team knock off Meridian by a score of 58-40.

The Eagles (7-9) will now prepare for their challenge against East Butler (Brainard, NE). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 15-0 record. In their last challenge, East Butler prevailed over Meridian (Daykin, NE), 67-38, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the Dorchester Longhorns (Dorchester, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Meridian will attempt to improve on its 1-15 season record. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a 1-14 record after their 76-27 non-league loss to Osceola (Osceola, NE).
