Illinois High School Basketball - Tremont holds off Deer Creek-Mackinaw

The Tremont Turks basketball team scored 61 points and limited the visiting Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs to 56 in the Turks non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Turks now have a 19-3 record. They play next when they travel to LeRoy for a Heart of Illinois game on Tuesday, January 28. Tremont will confront a Panthers team coming off a 48-45 non-league win over Heyworth (Heyworth, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 14-6.
With the loss, Deer Creek-Mackinaw falls to 8-14 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Cornerstone Christian (Bloomington, IL) to confront the Cyclones in a non-league game on Wednesday, January 29. The Cyclones go into the game with a record of 6-13.
