The Pinon Eagles basketball team (Pinon, AZ), was nudged 45-40 in Thursday's league battle with the host Hopi Bruins (Keams Canyon, AZ)
The Bruins now possess a 9-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Valley for a 2A North battle on Saturday, January 28. Hopi will battle a Pirates team coming off a 95-13 league win over Greyhills Academy (Tuba City, AZ). The Pirates record now stands at 11-9.
The Eagles (4-17) will now prepare for their battle against Round Valley (Eagar, AZ). The Elks come into the 2A North battle with a 13-8 record. In their last battle, Round Valley edged Many Farms (Many Farms, AZ), 48-33, in a league battle.
