The Hopi Bruins basketball team (Keams Canyon, AZ), was nudged 49-45 in Wednesday's league battle with the host Pinon Eagles (Pinon, AZ)
The Eagles now sport a 4-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Round Valley for a 2A North battle on Monday, January 9. Pinon will battle a Elks team coming off a 50-36 non-league loss to Holbrook (Holbrook, AZ). The Elks record now stands at 5-7.
The Bruins (6-5) will now prepare for their battle against Greyhills Academy (Tuba City, AZ). The Fightin' Knights come into the 2A North battle with a 0-9 record. In their last battle, Greyhills Academy was nudged by Ray (Kearny, AZ), 33-13, in a non-league battle.
