In Thursday's league match, the host Laurel Spartan basketball team scored a good 59-39 triumph over the Mohawk Area Warriors.
In their next game, the Spartan meet the Freedom Area Bulldogs (Freedom, PA) in a non-league match, on Saturday, February 4. Laurel will attempt to better on its 14-0 season record.
With the defeat, Mohawk Area moves to 8-7 on the year. The Warriors travel to Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA) to meet the Wolverine in a WPIAL 3A 1 match on Thursday, February 2. The Wolverine enter the match with a record of 7-10.
