The Galax Maroon Tide basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the visiting Bland County Bears to 42 in the Maroon Tide league victory on Friday.

The Maroon Tide now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fort Chiswell for a Mountain Empire bout on Tuesday, January 30. Galax will clash with a Pioneers squad coming off a 64-44 league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 8-9.

Next up, the Bears clash with the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) in a Mountain Empire bout, on Monday, January 29. Bland County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 68-54 league win over Grayson County (Independence, VA).
