In Friday's league outing, the Brentwood Spartans (Pittsburgh, PA) basketball squad edged the host Steel Valley Ironmen (Munhall, PA), by a count of 40-37.

The Spartans (5-11) will now prepare for their outing against South Park (South Park, PA). The Eagles go into the WPIAL 3A 2 outing with a 8-8 record. In their last outing, South Park held off Keystone Oaks (Pittsburgh, PA), 54-49, in a league outing.

The Ironmen now hold a 1-15 record. They play next when they travel to Sto-Rox for a WPIAL 3A 2 outing on Monday, January 29.
